Fellowship Classes

The primary goal of our adult Fellowship Classes is to help the members of our church grow in their knowledge of and love for our Lord Jesus Christ, through biblically accurate and doctrinally sound teaching, with relationally driven discussion. As we fellowship around God’s Word, we want to know our Lord Jesus more completely, and be better equipped to go out and serve Him in everyday life with greater devotion. Studying the Bible together, and interacting on it’s meaning in a smaller class setting leads to greater acts of service both inside and outside of our church.

We kickoff a new set of relevant and biblically sound class studies and topics every 3 to 4 months in August, January, and May. In every class, we are committed to providing a variety of godly leaders and teachers who will foster an environment that is humble, gracious, and honest, so that edifying discussion can lead to life application. Finally, in each class, we seek to interact with and support our church’s doctrinal statement so that we can keep a close watch on both our life and doctrine as a church.

Faith Legacy Class

A Nation Is Born – Exodus and Numbers

Moses was born into a rough world. The Israelites were so great in number that the king of Egypt forced them into hard labor. Moses’ story is a clear picture of God’s sovereignty. Not only was Moses’ life spared by the Egyptian princess, but also his mother nursed him. He even grew up in the house of Pharaoh. God saved Moses for a special purpose: to rescue His people, but this points to a greater calling and rescue—the call of Jesus to come to earth to save God’s people from their sin. (This class tracks with the children ages 2-10 to partner with parents in discipling their children at home.)

Faith Foundations Class

The Story of the Gospel – Overview of Old Testament

In this class, we will take a fast-paced journey through the story line of the Old Testament. Along the way, we’ll stop at key passages, observe different kinds of literature, but most importantly, we’ll see how the stories of the Old Testament are woven together into one big story—a story that points forward to ultimate redemption provided through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As we study the Old Testament at a break-neck speed, remember that if you are a Christian, these stories are your stories too. As one who has been grafted into Israel, your lineage of faith goes all the way back to Abraham. The resurrection faith on display in his obedience to sacrifice Isaac is the kind of resurrection faith we have today—on the other side of the empty tomb. And the heart of our missionary, rescuing God is to be reflected in us as we compassionately proclaim the gospel to those around us.

Faith Choices Class

Holy Sex – A Man and A Woman Joined in Marriage

This class, taught by Ray and Cindy Simmons, will explore the Scripture’s teachings on sexuality within Sacred Marriage. The post-modern worldview has taken our society far away from this basic truth of the Creator God and His Son Jesus Christ. We will seek to understand the violations of God’s Marriage form such as fornication, adultery, and incest. We will explore the unnatural expressions of homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality. We will also discuss the LGBT culture war with emphasis on different responses to the one “who calls himself a Christian” and “immoral people of this world”.  Please join with us as we seek to learn how to love those who fall into sexual sin, and “to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect”.

Faith Connections Class

New Member Class

If you are new to Grace Community Church, or if you are still trying to get connected with others in the church, this would be a perfect class for you to attend. We will not only be introducing you to all the beliefs, ministries, values, mission and objectives of our church, but you will also have an opportunity to get to know personally the pastors, elders and ministry leaders of our church. This is a great next step to help you discover not only if God would have you connect with GCC as your local church family, but also how to make this connection.
