Love God and love people as we help others become passionate followers of Jesus Christ all to the glory of God.
Connect with God in Worship: We seek to worship God in spirit and truth both individually and corporately by bringing glory and honor to His name in all that we say and do. (Colossians 1:15-18; John 1:1-3; Ephesians 1:22-23).
Connect with with others in Authentic Community: We seek to minister one another by practicing biblical love with our hearts joined together in genuine fellowship.
Grow: We seek to develop and build each other up to Christ-like maturity through relevant biblical instruction in the context of authentic and affirming relationships.
Go: We seek to go and serve in the ministries of the church, into the community and around the world to influence others for the sake of Christ. We seek to bring people into a relationship with Jesus Christ and into the fellowship of His family through personal witness and the proclamation of the Gospel.
Grace Community Church understands and fulfills its mission in the context of the following values and distinctives which define the nature of our ministry.
The Inerrancy of the Bible: The authority for our ministry comes from the Word of God as we submit ourselves to its teaching, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires for us to be (2 Timothy 3:16-17;Hebrews 4:12;
2 Peter 1:20-21).
The Enabling Work of the Holy Spirit: We believe that all that we accomplish is only by the enabling work of the Holy Spirit abiding and working within us to produce growth, maturity and spiritual fruit (John 14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:7-11; Acts 1:8).
The Undergirding of Prayer: All that we do must have the thorough undergirding of prayer support or else there is no reason to anticipate the attending power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our ministry (Ephesians 6:18; Philippians 4:6; Colossians 4:2).
An Atmosphere of Grace: We understand that nothing good happens in our lives that is not the result of God’s grace or unmerited favor toward us. Consequently, our relationships and our ministry together must be characterized by love and gratitude rather than guilt, shame and condemnation (Colossians 3:12-14).
The Importance of the Family: Recognizing that one of the greatest battlefields and proving grounds of our faith in Christ is right within the home, we are committed to strengthening the spiritual lives of families as we seek to fulfill the creation mandate and to become beacons of light for Christ within our community (Genesis 1:27-28; Ephesians 5:21-6:4).
The Sanctity of Human Life: We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being, endowed by his or her Creator with divine dignity and the right to life. We affirm that life continues to be sacred until a person’s natural death and that mental or physical disability in no way decreases the sacred value of a person’s life (Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:4-5).
A Commitment to Biblical and Godly Leadership: Following the model of the New Testament church, we are committed to an elder-led form of leadership and authority. Elders are responsible before God for ensuring that biblical principles are taught, protecting against false teaching, overseeing the affairs of the church, and otherwise providing Christ-like leadership that ensures the spiritual well-being of the church (Acts 14:23; 20:17-31;1 Timothy 5:17; Titus 1:5; 1Peter 5:1-3;1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9).
An Appreciation for Creativity and Innovation: We believe that the church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. In today’s rapidly changing world, forms and methods must be continually evaluated, and if necessary, altered to fit new conditions. We attempt to communicate the truth of God’s Word to our society in ways it can understand without compromising biblical absolutes (1 Chronicles 12:32; the teachings of Jesus).
An Irresistible Influence in the Community: We passionately embrace the calling to be salt and light in our community by reaching out with compassion to those in need and standing up for truth with courage and conviction (Matthew 5:13-16;Acts 13:10; Philippians 1:27-28).
An Appropriate Sensitivity to the Lost and Unchurched: We believe that all people matter to God and therefore all people matter to us. Since there are many people in our community and around the world who are spiritually lost, we seek to create a non-threatening environment in which they are free to explore the Christian faith at their own pace (1 Peter 3:15).
An Active Participation in World Missions – We are committed to making disciples of all nations through financial and prayer support of missionaries as well as personal and active participation in short-term mission trips by going, giving and sending (Acts 13:1-3; Mark 13:10; Mark 16:15).
